Update!

So I just realised that I haven't written anything in a while and I know I posted Movie Monday but I had written that almost a week before so I haven't actual written a post in a while.

So. I thought I could just do a quick update. And I mean super quick because I have a maths test tomorrow and I need to get back to studying soon. And no, I'm not procrastinating for a change. I've been studying for about an hour so this is my break time then I'll go back and do more. So yeah. Maths test tomorrow.

I had another musical rehearsal today, a bit smaller than last time and we just ran through a few scenes. I also realised I cannot speak in an american accent. But it didn't really matter anyway, we we're just all laughing at each other.

Other than that, I've been planning (really) early for NaNoWriMo but I think I'll be closer to the 'finish a story idea' goal I set at the start of the year.

But I should get started back on studying. Year 10 advanced Trigonometry....fun...

Happy Thursday.

Movie Mondays: The Hunger Games

(I came up with a name. It's a work if pure genius. Isn't it? If you have any other ideas. Tell me!)

(SPOILERS FOR CATCHING FIRE AHEAD)

I was thinking the other day. I don't know what about. But I came across the Hunger Games and I wondered... The people still in the districts and the Capitol especially, do they sleep during the hunger games coverage? I know it's a short about of time, maybe a week or so, but a lot of stuff came happen under the cover of night. Stuff that the viewers might want to see. I know that in Catching Fire she shoots the force field thing around the arena and it breaks down to reveal a blue sky when it was night time in the games.

Which also makes me wonder is it night during the games and daytime outside? But it looked like the right time when they went in? Do they make the days shorter in the games to make it seem like its going quicker? Or do they just shorten the first day so they might go into the games in the morning but when they go in it might become dark quickly?

SO MANY QUESTIONS!!

And another question... In catching fire, when the sky breaks and falls down, it looks pretty solid. So how to the hovercrafts get in? Would they just come in though a sliding panel or something? And, if so, how do they do it without the tributes noticing.

I think that's enough stuff to ponder. To be honest I started out with that first point in mind and the rest just stemmed off from that.

Anyway.

Happy Movie Monday.

Musical Mayhem.

We're putting on a musical! Bye Bye Birdie to be exact.

Okay, so that was reeeeaaally enthusiastic and I kinda scared myself a little but there it is in a nutshell. Our school is performing Bye Bye Birdie in late May or June.

We had our first rehearsal today and, oh boy, this is going to be fun. Today could also be described as hanging out with most if my friends since we make up most of the cast but it was still really fun. It was only our first rehearsal so we only read through the script and listened to a few of the songs but it was... Interesting.

For those who were wondering I am playing Mrs. MacAfee and if your not familiar with the storyline, I'm one of the main characters mothers. (You thought I was going to say I am a main character. Didn't you?) But although I'm not a huge role I still sing a few songs and have a few good chunks of dialogue. (That I have to memorise. Yay...) And another perk is that I'm considered a 'principle' and get to see all the rehearsals. Yay! Most of today I was laughing at the jokes the cast (and teacher) were making and attempting not to laugh when I had to read my lines.

As an insight, one of the continuing jokes throughout the rehearsal was Kim (main teen role) had to say "Conrad Birdie" 'huskily'... That then stemmed into the actress playing Kim to continually say the line, getting more awkward (or should I say sexual) each time. So then every time someone said "Conrad Birdie" it got a little bit weird. But I'm really bad at explaining and it was one of those 'had I be there' moments.

Anyway. I'll be keeping you all posted on how it goes. I get my script next week!

Happy Thursday!

Movie Mondays

It's now Monday night and I had a really cool idea this afternoon and have been writing down ideas all afternoon before I realised I should probably warn you guys. I have an idea for a new kind of trend, weekly post sort of things. (I am the queen of explanations I know.)

So I was thinking about movies and stuff and realised some really big plot holes in some of my favourite films. So I thought I should blog about it.

But of course I had more than one idea so I decided that I will make it a weekly things. Some weeks it'll be plot holes or random things I notice, other times it might be movie reviews or other movie related stuff. The title of this 'segment' (Can I call it that?) is still in the works but it will involve 'Movie' and 'Monday'.

So how does it sound? I will keep doing my random thought ones during the week as well so I won't just be movie obsessed...

Anyway...

Stay amazing.
Happy (Movie) Monday. (Cause apparently I'm making this a thing.)

The Joys of Summer

I think that there is a misconception about the idea of summer. People often think of it as fun at the beach, barbecues, holidays, hanging out with friends, going swimming... When really it's really just, heat, sun and sunburn then, if your luck, maybe, a tan.

Call me pessimistic or a crazed lunatic for being out in the sun all day and having minor heat stroke but hey, who cares.

*** THE NEXT DAY***

Yesterday I had my annual swimming carnival and it was an absolutely GREAT day. I swam in 2 competitive races and the participation swims. I also got to spend the whole day taking photos for our school magazine.

Wondering why I was such a pessimist afterwards. Well sunscreen works against sunburn, not so much dehydration. It turns out I hadn't had enough water during the day and I was a little bit pink on the cheeks and shoulders. Hello, heatstroke.

For those who have not experienced it. It's not fun. I came home, showered, gulped down three glasses of water and just stayed on my bed with my laptop until dinner, and even then I didn't want to get up.

But I've pretty much just whined this whole post and now I feel like I shouldn't publish it but, I'm going to anyway and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Friday. (TGIF)

Awkward Teenage Moments

I probably didn't really know the definition of awkward until recently. Sure, I'd experienced awkward silences and being caught on things you thought no one would remember and one of the worst, sex education. (With a creepy teacher, just to make things worse.)

But nothings tops it just like having to talk one on one to your PE teacher about teenagers having sex under the age of 16.

We are currently studying 'Power in Relationships' in PDHPE and we had to do an activity on 'active listening'. We basically sat in two circles, one inner, one outer and the person on the outside would have to speak about a chosen topic for a minute while the people on the inside tried to be active listeners. We would switch around between who we were sitting with and who was talking and I just happened to be lucky enough to be partnered with my teacher when this particular topic came up. I suppose I had it okay actually. I have a pretty great PE teacher (not the creepy one) and it would've been much more awkward if it had been say, one of the popular boys... or I had been talking.

Apparently, I was a good active listener, and he made sure to tell the whole class about it. Apparently I kept a straight face the entire time and only went bright red when he started talking about me in front of the class. (WHY!)

But I felt like I should share that little bit of information with you. Tell me if you can beat that bit of embarrassing info.

Buh Bye. Happy Tuesday.

Prologue!

So, mainly because I didn't know what to post, I decided to post the prologue of the story I am currently writing. I haven't edited it much and feel like I should add more to it but this is what I have. I hope you enjoy it and please tell me what you think, but, without further ado, here it is. The prologue of the story that doesn't have a title yet...

Prologue: The Girl.
"But Sir..." The man pleaded.

"But nothing!" The other man replied. A gunshot sliced through the air hitting the man in the chest, cutting him off him off mid-sentence as he looked at the new bullet hole in his abdomen. He collapsed on the floor, his eyes rolling back in their sockets.

The shooter pointed to two men in front of him. “Take him away!” he ordered.

"Take him away!" The other man ordered, pointing to two other men in front of him. The two men dragged the body out of the room as their leader scanned the crowd in front of him.

"You!" He shouted, pointing to a man standing off to his right. He had brown hair, cut short so you could only just see the curls, and dark brown eyes. He was lean, but not to scrawny. You could describe his build as the ‘spy build’ and that would describe him pretty well.

When he noticed his leader was pointing at him he stood to attention, saluting.

"Yes Sir!" He replied abruptly.

"Come here!" the man ordered. The boy scurried towards the man, his brown hair falling loosely in front of his eyes, he brushed it away before standing to attention before his leader.

"Name."

"Evans, Sir"

"Good. You are now my second in command. You are in charge of finding the girl. No excuses. Find her and bring her to me. Alive."

"Sir, yes sir!"

"Choose seven other agents, get supplies and leave at once." The leader informed. The newly appointed second in command then walked back to join the crowd of other men.

"You are dismissed!" The twenty or so other agents filed out of the room leaving their leader alone.

"Honey!" a sing-song voice rang out from behind the man "I'm home!"

"Hey Sylvia." He replied.

"Buzzy," she chided appearing behind him. She wore a grey business suit and her pale blonde hair was pulled into a high, neat bun on the top of her head. Her electric blue eyes looked at her husband with the upmost affection and worry "What's wrong?"

"She got away again.” The man replied. He looked a lot like his wife, same pale blonde hair, closely cropped, blue eyes gazing blankly ahead. “It’s the third time this month!"

"Honey, it’ll be fine. We'll find her this time. I have a hunch." She walked up and laid a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

"Sylvia." he said turning to his wife. "You've said that the last eight times we've been looking for this girl."

"But this time I really feel It." she coaxed.

"You've said that the past seven." He sighed. "But I hope your right Syl. This time we need to get her. She turns sixteen in three days." He sighed again and turned to leave the room. As he walked out he was muttering under his breath.

"Summer, Summer, Summer. Why do you make this so hard?"

***

So that's it. I feel like it's really short but it's all that I can put in there without giving everything away. Please tell me what you think. :) Bye!

Writers block, yet I have too many ideas.

So I would consider myself a very, very amateur writer. I have written 4 books, and haven't finished one of them...

I am a procrastinator and a perfectionist. NOT a good combination. I worry about what I'm writing and I like to have a plan of everything that I'm doing and then when something I don't like happens I just stop and really want to start again. I know it's horrible.

I started writing a story to upload to wattpad and I really loved my idea and the title and how everything was going along and then...I didn't have a major plot. Sure I had ideas that would effect the book and generally shape it but I had no idea what would happen after that. So I stopped, took a break and haven't gone back to it...

That's because this brilliant thing called NaNoWriMo came along. For anyone who doesn't know what that is it stands for National Novel Writing Month, and in the month of November each year you aim to write 50,000 words. I had a vague plot planned out and I got to about 16,000 words by the end of the month, but as always my downfall was not having the plot thought through enough.

(But one of my friends did finish and was published, you can buy the book, I'll link it at the end.)

So I have 2 stories that I'm currently working because I love both ideas. And I switch between both. (Would I get away with saying I'm keeping it fresh?) I work on both regularly although I'm currently in the process of changing one book from first person to third. Fun...(note the sarcasm)

I made a New Year's resolution to try and finish one of these and since its the start of February and I haven't done much I feel like I should write a bit more. I'm really enjoying writing this blog though. So, yay. If only writing a book was as easy as writing a blog.

So, Happy February guys. I'm off to try and write a bit more.

Oh how I wish I was young.

Who am I kidding, I'm still considered young. But a few days I go I became the official wedding photographer for my sisters cabbage patch wedding. Her and her friend have had a few wedding in the past between their dolls but this is the first one I attended.

Watching them made me happy, trying to make up wedding vowels, walking them down the aisle and then them dancing afterwards. They even signed wedding papers which was a left over certificate from a newspaper competition.

I just felt like sharing this with you since it was heart warming to watch them. So with out further ado, I present to you Marcus and Shelly.
