Musical Theatre and a bit of Team Starkid

I haven't really expressed my love for Starkid on my blog before. To be honest, it's kind of been my secret obsession for a while. I'm really the only one of my friends that loves musical theatre. I know we did a musical, and they enjoyed it. But I think they enjoyed the experience of it more, the acting and singing and being on stage. And I love it too. I love performing, no matter how nerve racking it is. If there's one thing I learnt from being a part of the musical, it's that I can do it. I managed to perform in from of an audience of over 100 people, 3 times. Actually, I saw family friends yesterday and my mum took down the program to show them and they were looking at it and the mother of the family turned to me and said, "Since when was this you? Since when did you get on stage and sing in front of people?" And it was then that I realised how much I've changed in the past 6 months. The last time I saw this family was around Christmas and they were shocked to hear about me performing. I'm still quite shy, I still don't like public speaking or talking to new people. But I love the feeling I get when I'm performing on stage. It's weird how much of a drama kid I'm sounding like right now. I chose music as one of my subjects for my senior years and therefore HSC, and I'm really glad I did now. But, as my original point was, my friends liked the idea of performing, but I love the story. And the music behind the story. I love the way songs can tell a story, they can push a plot along. I just think that it's amazing. The same goes for lyrical songs. They tell a story. Just, agh! There have to be other people who feel the same way. Right?

But enough of my spiel about musical theatre, my original idea for this post was Starkid.

Team Starkid, also known and Starkid Potter or Starkid Productions, are an amazing theatre company comprised of actors, writers, directors, choreographers, designers, everything! What I love about these guys is, beside them being totally awesome (hoping someone will get the reference), is that they've done it all by themselves. Sure they've probably had help along the way, but, in reality, Starkid is a group of college friends that have made a career out of what they love. It gives me hope to think that I can make my own future. But I can only hope that I'll meet a group of people that would want to do that with me.

At the moment, the musicals I have watched are A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter Sequel, Starship and Twisted, I've seen the start of A Very Potter Senior Year and snippets of the others but I love all of them. As I write this I am watching their LeakyCon London performance on the other half of my screen.

They are an amazing group of performers and I aspire (Haha, School motto) to accomplish anything near what they have. I can't recoomend them enough. I'm sure they've created something that you'll like, Harry Potter, Disney, Sci-fi and they're currently performing a Star Wars show, which will uploaded once it's been performed and edited.

You can see all of Starkid's productions on their YouTube channel here.

Stay "Totally Awesome!"

Happy Sunday.

Reviewsday Tuesday: Popular, a memoir

I just want to say. Maya. If you're reading this but you probably aren't and that's okay. You're book is amazing. You inspire me in so many ways. It has a special place in my heart because you're book gives me hope. Thank you.

So. To my actual readers. This. Book. Is. Brilliant! Other book reviews just aren't going to be as good now. I was telling my friends when I finished it that it was up there with Harry Potter. And it is! It's crazy! But HP and Popular are two VERY different books.

Basically popular is the story of a girl, Maya, who finds a book written in the fifties on 'how to be popular' by Betty Cornwell. So, as a social experiment, she decides to put the advice from the book into her modern day life as an 8th grade, middle school student.

This book really says a lot about modern day society and gives an honest insight on the way a teenagers school life works. I can relate to Maya so much. The dorky kid with braces that doesn't talk to many people but has a few good friends. That's me. But I got my braces off so that's one difference. But one thing I don't have that Maya does, is guts. She may not have been the most confident person to start with but she did it. She didn't let what people thought of her get to her. Or maybe she did. But it didn't stop her. I admire her for her guts. Because she's the person I aspire to be. The gutsy, confident, dorky, geek. I think I have the dorky geek part down pat, I'm still working on the gutsy confident part though.

Overall, I loved this book. I recommend it to pretty much any girl whose in high school. And I mean Australian high school. 7-12. It's a beautiful book. I really loved it.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

You guys are amazing.

Although you may be few in numbers. I'm fairly sure I have a few readers that come back to read my posts. And it's to those people. And any one else who's reading this that I apologise to and also say thank you too. You may not have cared that I haven't posted but I didn't get angry comments and I'm hoping you'll be reading this. But basically, here's a short summary of why I have been absent from my general blogging tendencies.

1. The main one. One of my friends was in a coma for 4 days. To say I was worried was an understatement. They're getting better though. They're going okay.

2. I have to go get X-rays on my back soon as I have slight scoliosis and my hips aren't aligned. I had a doctors appointment Tuesday so I've been freaking out over that a bit.

3. My Internet hasn't been working. It only seems to work from 8am to 9pm. And even then it's temperamental. So with me being out during the day. It hasn't left much time for me to write.

4. It's school holidays and I've been lazy. I had a stressful term but I ended it on a high with an awesome report so I've kind of slacked off a bit just relaxing before schools goes back. Lots of reading and piano time.

5. I also have two assignments due first week back. And as I said earlier I've been slacking off a bit so yeah. That's getting a bit stressful.

But I've been writing a few posts. I have a few Reviewsday Tuesday's lined up and I will definitely be back into the swing of things when school goes back. Hopefully...

Happy Thursday.

Tough Times

It only recently occurred to me that I haven't posted in ages. I'm really sorry. And now would usually be the time where I promise I'll have one up soon. But I can't promise that. I'm going through a lot of stuff at the moment and life has been tough. I hope you can understand. Stay amazing guys.

Happy Saturday.

Reviewsday Tuesday: The week that was...

I know I usually do book reviews, maybe movie reviews. But today I'm reviewing last week. Because just LOOK!!

WE DID IT!! WE PERFORMED A FULL LENGTH MUSICAL!! THREE TIMES!!!

I'm not going to say it went perfectly, because I would be lying. But overall, we did an awesome job. We've become so close over the past semester working on the musical and I've made lots of new friends. Now the task is to say hi to the cast whenever we walk past them.

Although that doesn't happen with CAPA students. No, we go over the top. For instance, the boy who played my son, Randolph, in the musical walked past and I yelled "Randolph" at him, he just just "Mum!" Right back. That's how CAPA students roll guys...

I'm so proud of everyone involved, we pulled it off in just under a semester and everyone who saw it said it was awesome and everyone who didn't see it missed out. It is an amazing show. It has big chorus numbers with some really catchy tunes that we're still singing now. Which is surprising. You think we'd be over it by now. Right? NOPE! But it was amazing, it's an amazing musical and yeah. I seem to be saying amazing a lot.

The cast is seriously amazing, despite a lot of stress and people not listening and everyone getting on people's nerves, everyone is amazing and I've made some good friends.

LAST POINT! As a general finishing point, it was awesome and Thursday night, our closing night, I won't deny it, I got emotional. It had been a long night it was probably the toughest show we did. I was stressed, tired and it was over. We had done it a semester worth of rehearsals, mental breakdowns and general stress, we had done it, it was over. And I wasn't the only one, there were probably four of us. It was emotional.

Sorry for all the photos but I need to share the amazing-ness. There was also an article written about us, which you can see here-MORE PHOTOS.

Thanks for bearing with me the past, really 6 months, but the past two weeks.

Happy Tuesday.

Reviewsday Tuesday: The Fault in Our Stars.

(No spoilers today guys, at least, I don't think so)

In honour of the movie coming out last week, The Fault in Our Stars is getting reviewed.

The movie is also BRILLIANT! I LOVED IT GO WATCH IT! BRING TISSUES!

Anyway...

If you're new here, you may not know, the Green brothers are amazing. Don't try to argue with me. You will lose.

Anyway. I read this book at the end of January (I think) because it had been on my to-read list for a while and I finally got up to it. (The list isn't getting much shorter though, no matter how much I read.)

At first, I was sceptical to read this book. I'm more a humor, action, mystery, romance or fantasy kind of gal. And I had heard that this book was sad, so I was umming and ahhing a bit before I read it. It is a sad book, I won't deny that. But it's also a beautiful piece of literature. John Green is an amazing writer on top of being an awesome human being. Anyway, back to the book.

As Shailene Woodley (who plays Hazel in the movie) once said; "It's the story about kids with cancer, but it's not about cancer." That sums up the book so well, it's weird. The Fault in Our Stars is the story of Hazel and Gus, two normal teenagers. Well, not entirely normal. Hazel is forced by her parents to go to a support group for teens with cancer, and one day, a boy shows up, he's being emotional support for another boy at the support group. Enter Augustus Waters.

They fall in love, yada yada. The end. Right? WRONG!

Well I'm getting into spoilers now. So for anyone who hasn't read it, read it and come back. If you've read it, read on. Or If you haven'y read it, avoid the paragraph and continue on to the end.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! LITERALLY WITHIN THE FIRST FEW WORDS!!! DON'T BE TEMPTED!!!

Okay, I think it's safe.

Gus's death. It's sad, but beautiful. And, I may have angry fangirls, but it wasn't what upset me the most. People die all the time. Wow, I sound heartless. But what upset me more was seeing him deteriorate as he became worse and worse. That was the hardest part about reading it for me. And the pre-funeral. Issac's speech. How can someone not feel something during that.
Now for the people avoiding spoilers.

Overall, This book is amazing. It's high up on my favourite books list. The movie is also beautiful.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

Creepy Stalker Ex-Girlfriend.

I mentioned in a previous post that a downside of my trip to Charlestown was a creepy stalker ex-girlfriend. So I am going to share a story.

STORY TIME WITH GRACE!

Once upon a time. There was a girl named Grace. Who travelled a great distance too meet people from a foreign land.

Okay. I don't think I can keep this up of much longer.

Basically I went bowling with people I've never met before. And once we arrived, we could find the people were were supposed to be meeting up with. So the friend joining us all together (now known as Panda) was looking around for them. He spotted someone he knew and went to go ask her. This turned out to e his ex. (Aka. CSEG) (btw. Panda is dating one of my best friends now. Although she couldn't make it.)

So we went bowling and CSEG was trying to talk to him and was, quite literally, all over him. Desperate was an understatement. She even ditched the friend she came with for us when we got there apparently. She was not popular with her after that...

So that was just annoying. But not that creepy stalker like. Now comes the creepy part.

At recess on Tuesday, Panda was getting calls from a private number who we suspected was CSEG. After a few calls. Panda answered the phone, came back into the music rooms where we sit and told us (quietly) that CSEG had said that she was at the back gates of our school, wanting to talk to Daniel.

Yep. I'm not lying. This actually happened.

We thought she might've been lying. Or we hoped that she had left already so a little bit later we walked out the back to where she said she was and looked for her. We couldn't find her so we hoped that she had left.

That was until we got to maths and Panda pointed her out walking away from the school. She was actually there. It was creepy to say the least. Again we hoped she was leaving for good.

Then at lunch he got more calls. He told her that he would be walking out the front that afternoon to avoid her when we were all walking out the back.

That afternoon, we were waiting to get picks up or for buses or whatever we were doing when he got yet another call. This time he had enough an went to go talk to her. I left before he came back but I hear that there were words exchanged in a loud manner. And I don't blame him.

So what I find the oddest thing about this is, and it may just be me because I need think of skipping class, let alone school. But what must've run through her head to think; "I'm going to skip school today, catch a train down to my ex-boyfriends new suburb and wait outside his school until he talks to me." I'm sorry, but I don't think that's normal. Just. What?! I'm still just confused over what she thought she would gain from this little field trip. But yeah. That was interesting.

Now I've done 3 posts in a week. And 2 of them were actually proper ones. What's going on?!?!

Happy Saturday.

Thursday 5 June 2014

Spontaneity.

I am a worrier. And I over analyse. And over think and generally just freak out.

So I did something random. Under planned. Slightly rebellious. Something I wouldn't have done normally.

I went out with friends...

*gasp*

(Getting it out of the way, I'm a weird child. I have rather overprotective parents and don't get out much. Don't judge.)

Okay. So that's pretty much is all I did, but what makes this special is that I caught a train down to Newcastle. (30 min train ride.) Then caught a bus to Charlestown to watch a movie with friends of a friend. People I had only talked to over message for less than a week.

Starting off, the train was good. We were there in time and there were 5 if us catching it so we were all set. The problem arose when we caught the bus. We caught the right bus. It terminated in Charlestown. But that was the problem. It terminated in Charlestown. Meaning that it went everywhere before Charlestown. Lets just say we ended up being an hour late meeting up with people.

So it took us a little while to find the Newcastle friends so by the time we had lunch, we decided that we would miss the movie and go bowling then wander around for a bit. So we went bowling! I came second! Then we wandered for a bit. I bought a birthday present for mum and then my friends mum picked us up.

You may be thinking, why was she stressed out? Well mainly, we were meeting up with people I've never met before. And I was a bit nervous because they were guys. And I knew they wouldn't be horrible because I had talked to them over message and they were friends with my friends so they couldn't be that bad but I was still nervous.

I had a good day though. There were downsides. (Creepy stalker ex girlfriend) But than can be a separate post.

Happy Thursday.

Tuesday 3 June 2014

AGH! It's Tuesday....

Alas. School is being sucky.

It's Tuesday. I had Maths Enrichment, our musical opens is 14 days. Friends are having issues. And I am supposed to do a review. Sorry. Nope. Not gonna happen.

If it seems like I've forgotten about this blog, I promise. I haven't. But maths is proving to be a little bit difficult at the moment so I'm falling behind and I really have to be getting ahead because the musical is in two weeks and I'm going to be missing out on nearly a week of school.

Plus friends are being an issue and then slight family stuff so I'm sorry. I'm just a little bit stressed out right now. I have three weeks until holidays and then I should be back on track. I'm so sorry guys. Three weeks and I should be back to normal.

Just stress.

Phew.

Happy Tuesday.

Musical Update

I mentioned it a while ago. I was super super excited about it a while ago and I thought I should update y'all.  (  ...  )

Term Two started and with it, the realisation that the Musical is nearing quickly. As we start week 5. We now have only 3 weeks to go.

Please excuse me while I go faint because I only just realised that.

Overall. I think we're going okay. We're getting through it but 3 weeks isn't a long time. But our principles are amazing (some of the other cast members are not).
And, of course, we know all of our lines, songs, choreography and blocking. (As well as everyone else's) But does everyone. No. We ran through one of the big group numbers, telephone hour, with all the people who are in it. And it was worrying. Watching them. Half of them didn't what group they were in, or what part they were singing or their harmony line. But I'm staying optimistic. They have time to work that out. But to be fair. A lot of time has already gone into that number. And we still have 1 or 2 scenes that haven't even been looked at yet. But they're principle scenes so we'll all be okay. Hopefully.

Overall. Everyone's stressing. Half of us have colds and the other half don't turn up to rehearsals. Just kidding! There's only about 5 sick principles. Yay!

On the plus side, I might be singing, off stage, as a boy, in Telephone Hour. Which is going to be fun. Although it might be weird seeing 3-4 guys singing with the voice of 8 people. Either way.

Think happy thought. 3 WEEKS! This time, in 3 weeks, I'll be crazily preparing for a week of shows. AGH! Stressful times. Anyway, if your in the area, you should come. And it's the RTHS show (because another nearby school is also doing, I'm going to see that the night of our matinee. ;)

Happy Friday.

City of Heavenly Fangirl (Reviewsday Tueaday)

This is the only thing on my mind at the moment. Sorry.

MAJOR SPOLIERS AHEAD!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! ENTER AT OWN RISK!

SPOILERS FROM THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS AND THE INFERNAL DEVIES SERIES AND OTHERS FROM CoHF THAT I'VE SEEN FLOATING AROUND THE INTERNET!!

So...

City of Heavenly Fire comes out TODAY!!! Well it's the 27th but when I preordered it, it said the 28th. Either way. I HAVEN'T READ IT YET!!!

I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago and I'm patiently (yeah right) waiting for it to automatically download onto my Kindle.

So today I want to address some things that, I think, need to be resolved in CoHF. And probably will since its the last TMI book. But if its anything like TID, the upcoming series, TDA, will tie in with everything else. Maybe. Or perhaps it will tie in with TLH (another series to be published. This lady keeps busy.) But onto meeting my inner fangirl.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

1. Malec. The only people I've really ever "shipped". That probably sounds weird because they're a gay couple but (fangirl initiate) they're just so perfect together.

When they broke up at the end if CoLS, I was on holidays and I was reading before I went to bed and I had tears in my eyes and I just kept playing the scene I've and over in my head before I went for sleep. Agh! But that's something that needs to be fixed and I've seen snippets out if CoHF and I think they're getting somewhere. I also read this thing on Pintrest saying that Magnus gave his immortality to Izzy so he could be with Simon. I don't know if it's real or not and I swear, if that happens... I don't know if I'd be happy or not. Because, that leads into my next point.

2. JEM AND TESSA ARE IN IT!! If you haven't read The Infernal Devices and are waiting for CoHF to come out, STOP! Go and read The Infernal Devices then come back. Because I think there's going to be stuff you need to know. Oh, and can someone PLEASE explain to me the end of Clockwork Princess. Where they're on the bridge (which I ADORABLE!) and Jem isn't a silent brother anymore? Is it after CoHF? Or does he become a Silent Brother again?! I'M SO CONFUSED! And I'm not sure if I want Jem and TESSA to be together... I loved them together at the start but then he left her and Will. And became a Silent Brother and everything happened and I didn't like him as much anymore. Plus in the epilogue, recounting Tessa's life up until then. All her friends dying and having kids and grand kids and then leaving them and Will. That was upsetting.

3. SIX CHARACTERS WE KNOW BY NAME WILL DIE!! All I can say is that Sebastion better be one of them. Yes, I still call him Sebastion. I know he's technically Jonathon but Sebastion is easier and less confusing. But I don't know how I feel about characters dying. And I suppose they could be characters I don't really care for like Raphael or Cammile but that still leaves three. And I guess it kind of annoys me now, knowing that 6 WILL die. Although I can kind of prepare myself for reading on the bus. Kinda. Probably not. Which leads me into...

4. Simon's Sacrifice. One of the chapters is called Simon's Sacrifice and at first I thought, "He might have to give up the mark of Cain." Then I remembered that he already gave that up. So now I'm worried again. He can't die. He can't. At least, I'm fairly sure it's illegal to kill off Simon. But then I don't know what he will sacrifice. I just can't wait until I find out. It's killing me.

5. ONE SHIP WON'T COME BACK!! What?! No. Just no. Does she mean that one of them dies? Or that the ship wot get back together? Because that really only means Malec and I've already addressed that. Unless it's a Sebastion ship. Because I'd be happy is Sebastion died.

6. I also read a twitter response photo thingy (whatever). The question was; "what would Sebastion look like if he wasn't part demon?" And Cassandra Clare replied with "you'll find out." YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO US CASSANDRA! You can't lead us on like that. And that leads me to think that if we see Sebastion without the demon part of him, will he become a good guy? And will I change my opinion on him dying? Will he be someone to die? I JUST DON'T KNOW!

7. We will meet characters from TDA. This I'm not really anticipating as much as some of the others but I'm still excited to see what she does with it. And since  TDA is set between TID and TMI, does that mean some of the characters are immortal? Will there be another warlock?! WILL THERE BE POTENTIAL ROMANTIC INTERESTS FOR MAGNUS, SIMON AND (maybe, depending in the Jem situation) TESSA?!?!

8. And I think Sebastian has (or gets) a girlfriend. Or at least he gets to kiss someone... I think..

But I think that's enough for today. I've had my fangirl. I can't wait to read it. I'm not going to have a social like for the next few days. Fun. :) Anyway.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

P.S. Due to my obsession with this book. I may not be able to post as regularly because I'll be too busy reading. I'll probably haven't finished soon-ish though so yeah.

And I realised I used abbreviations a few times.

In order of appearance;
CoHF- City of Heavenly Fire
TMI- The Mortal Instruments
TID- The Infernal Devices
TDA- The Dark Artifices
TLH- The Last Hour
Malec- Magnus and Alec ship name
CoLS- City if Lost Souls.

Mid-Year Crisis

There's nothing worse than riding the bus home and realising you haven't done your weekly blog post...

Well there are worse things but yeah. First off, I'm sorry. Second of all, I'm not really that sorry. I've had  lot on my mind lately I've had exams and friend stuff and I have a Maths enrichment program on a Tuesday night (last night). And to top it all off, the icing on the cake, I'm in a musical which is being performed in less than four weeks. This time, in four weeks time, we will be half an hour into our second show. To say I'm freaking out is an understatement.

I've also been distracted by Tumblr, Pintrest and talking to to mah bestie. But I'm using the other ones as my excuse.

Overall, I'm just a little but stressed at the moment. My life's getting pretty interesting at the moment and unfortunately, blogging seems to pop into my mind at the wrong times (studying just before an exam for example.) So, I'm sorry, blogging may be a bit slow for a while but I'll try to post when I can.

GOOD NEWS TIME!
1. TMI comes out next week!!! I'm excited. I'm ready. I'm waiting.
2. I know it's still a little while away, a friend and I have planned to go see TFiOS opening weekend. We can't go see it Friday because we have an excursion but I'm staying at her place and planning to see it on Saturday
3. I TOPPED MY CLASS IN MY HALF YEARLY EXAM!!! I don't like to brag about it at school but this is the Internet so whatever. I'm so happy! I worked really hard for this and I've come second or third to different people on the topic tests but I pulled though this time. 97%!!! I'm really proud of myself.

But there's my excuses and round up for the week. Have a good week guys.

Happy Wednesday.

3 reasons to love Kindle.

My little end of week present to you. :)

That was random...

I love reading. I read all the time and I love nothing better than curling on my bed with a hot chocolate, reading a good book. And I love reading a real, paper, book. But I also own a Kindle. And I love it too.

There are definitely downsides to Kindles. They don't have the same smell and feel of a book. (That sounded creepy.) Or that I don't have a visual representation of all the books I've read. Or the feeling of carrying a thick novel around in in your arm. And the fact that they're electronic, that can always pose problems. But there's definitely an upside as well.

1. I catch a bus to school everyday for about and hour up and back, and I read on the bus. I'm currently re-reading the Harry Potter series and, let me tell you, trying to pack The Goblet of Fire (which I'm currently reading.) into a backpack with all my other books and lunch and stuff, it's not fun. A kindle's a lot easier, especially reading a book that you don't want to be judged on (If you're self-conscience, like me.), no one can see what you're reading. Being able to read on my iPod while on the go is also awesome.

2. In my family, we like reading. We all read. Even Dad. And my Mum's an infants teacher and my sister and I are obsessed with reading and my other sister, well, we tend not to mention her. But she reads a bit. So In my house, we have a lot of books. Three bookcases full. One double stacked. My desk is covered in books and we generally have a lot of books in our house. So having Kindles ( my sister and I have one each.) is a big help in the problem of over stocking books.

3. It's cheaper. It's simple and makes me sound like a cheap skate. But it's true. I saved 60% on a book that isn't even out yet. To buy the book, it would've been around $25, the average price for a novel. I paid $10. I saw the price and refreshed the page over and over, not believing that it could be true. I sent a photo to my friend who is also awaiting the release of the book and she was over the moon. (Mainly because she knows that she can get it off me.) The book, City of Heavenly Fire, has been so greatly anticipated, I expected it to be crazily over priced with people trying to make the most of fans pre-ordering. So I was happily surprised. There's also heaps of freebies that aren't that bad but I think you get my point of they're cheaper.

As John Green once said, "I don't care how you read, as long as you are reading." (Or something like that.) That's something I strongly agree with. Reading a good book is amazing no matter how you read it. So if you've been thinking about getting a Kindle but are sceptical or a purist about books, try it? You can get them pretty cheaply (I did a quick search, around $70) and they're amazing.

Happy Friday.

Reviewsday Tuesday: The Mortal Instruments

I felt like I needed to do a non John Green related review. And I have a lot to say about these series.

I just want to address something quickly. There have been rumours going around that Cassandra Clare, author of the Mortal Instruments series, plagiarised ideas for her best selling novels. Now, from my information, if she was basing it off anything, it was a Harry Potter fan fiction SHE wrote. I don't want to hear your opinion on the matter, Sorry. I just wanted to address that I know that this has been going around and I don't want to hear people hating the books because of it, because I love them. Now, back to the review.

I love this series, I just pre-ordered the next book which comes out in a couple of weeks. (I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!) And it was only $10 to pre-order on Kindle. BOOYEAH!

I have fallen in love with the Shadowhunter world and all the characters in it. In the coming weeks I'm going to be rehashing everything that happened in the series before I read the last one. Because ITS THE LAST ONE!

But there's going to be three more series so it's okay. ;)

There's just something about this series that makes me want to come back for more. It may be the fact that I've always had a love of fantasy and this series bring the fantasy into the real world. Or the fact that it has (in my opinion) that perfect balance of action and romance. Or that it's filled with plot twists and the fact that it blends so well with 'The Infernal Devices'.*

The series is going to be six books, although it can be split into two trilogies pretty easily. Although I don't recommend reading the second half first or anything.

Overall, a brilliant series. I'd definitely recommend it.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

*Seperate review to be done later

Friday 9 May 2014

So... Hi Poland

When I started this blog, never in a million years did I think I'd become known or read by anyone but me. And I'm not saying that I'm famous or well-known or anything. Pfft, yeah right. I'm far from it. But I was just checking my stats and this happened.

I figured that there would be more Australians because most of them are probably me... But anywhere else? And POLAND! That I never expected. Countries other than Australia in general, I never expected.

I have been watching my page views go up steadily and I'm now around the 350 mark, and that's incredible. I was ECSTATIC when I reached 50. So when I reached 100, 200, 300. I was dancing around my room.

I love the idea of being able to share part of me with you. I want to make a difference in the world and although everyone says each person can make a difference, and I believe that. I also believe that you're stronger with friends around you. (And most of this I learnt from Harry Potter...)

But now I sound like someone who wants to dictate the world. Which I certainly do NOT!

Basically what I wanted to say is a big THANK YOU!!! To every single person who reads this little patch one the Internet that I call my own. And I appreciate every page view I get and you comments mean the world to me, literally. When I check my laptop and I have a comment, I get so excited knowing that it's not just me, checking the blog that stacks up those page views.

So PLEASE comment below, and maybe what country you're from. Especially if you're from Poland, I'd really love to talk to you.

Anyway, Love you all.

Happy Friday.

Wednesday 7 May 2014

I'm not good at this.

So I was just about to go to sleep an I remember a certain something that was supposed to be uploaded on Tuesday.

AND I DIDN'T!

I'm so sorry. I have a maths enrichment course on a Tuesday night once a fortnight. So I got home late after that and it honestly, just slipped my mind. Then I had an art excursion today so I got back late and I'm tired and sore and have a headache so yeah.

Sorry about missing it. I have exams next week so that could be an issue but I'll try.

Happy Wednesday.

P.S. Both the maths enrichment program and excursion today were great. Might do a post on them later this week. Hmm...

Amigurumi

My most recent hobby at the moment...

Definition of amigurumi: Amigurumi is the Japanese trend of knitting or crocheting stuffed animals and dolls. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning soft toy.

I like crafts. Sewing, knitting, paper crafts, pretty much anything. But I have never crocheted, I've just never tried. But I saw these little pokemon crafts and I REALLY wanted them. And because I can't buy stuff, I usually try to make it. So I found a pattern and what do I find, they're crochet...

So, yesterday, that was my project, learning how to crochet and do a magic ring (that was not fun) and other stuff. My mum had a crocheting hook and we have heaps of wool lying around the house so I was set. Today I'm hoping to (at least) start on one of the little pokemon. But I'll keep you posted, wish me luck. :)

Happy Sunday.

P.S. Isn't this little guy just so perfect! :P

Reviewsday Tuesday: Will Grayson, will grayson

I don't know why I liked this book so much. I just did.

Will Grayson, will grayson is the story of two teenage boys that just happen to share the exact same name. So when they meet each other (in the weirdest way) I don't really know we're I was going with that sentence. But yeah.

I actually really liked this book. And I honestly don't really know why. I tend to not read books written from a males perspectives, unless it's fantasy or sci-fi ish (Because I love Eragon) mainly because they can get a little...awkward. Especially when reading on the bus.

But it's John Green so yeah. It was written with David Levithan so we need to give him credit as well.

Overall I enjoyed this book (for the third time the post) and would recommend it. It's one of those books that will make you angry and laugh and (maybe, if you're me, reading late at night) cry. And it's overall a really good book.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

P.S. I didn't cry in this book because it was sad. Just so it doesn't turn anyone off. I just found the ending very touching and I started to tear up a little. Although I was reading late at night when emotions are running high.

Why? Just why?

The million dollar question for Fangirls everywhere...

Why do fictional things have so much effect on us?

I just watched the most recent episode of Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And then spent 5 minutes (being totally clichĂ©) pacing around my room running my hand through my hair. Like seriously, I actually did that.

And as I walked zombie-like out of our lounge room. My dad called to me. "Remember it's just what people have written." And I do remember that. I just find it amazing that normal people like you and me can write something so intriguing and mind blowing and amazing.

I don't watch much TV normally. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is one of the only shows I regularly watch because I love everything Marvel. (although I'm still working my way through the movies. I haven't seen the more recent ones. No spoilers please.)

But yeah. I just needed to get that off my chest. I was going to go into details over what happened. But if you've seen the episode. I think you'll know why I mean.

IT'S JUST.... AGH.

Happy Thursday.

Reviewsday Tuesday: This Star Won't Go Out.

HELLO REVIEWSDAY TUESDAY!

The first thing I thought of was "The Start Of Something New" from High School Musical. Yeah...

Anyway. The first book I want to review is This Star Won't Go Out. I usually don't like non-fiction books, but I made an exception for this.

For anyone who doesn't know about this book. It is the story of Esther Earl, an awesome nerdfighter that sadly passed away in 2010. She had just turned 16.

John missed the silly face memo...
Now don't think that this is a depressing cancer story and it's just a bunch of people writing about how much they miss her, because it's nothing like that. The book is her life. It's a collection of diary entries, blog posts, video transcripts even forum chats. Sure, there's parts written by her doctors, family and friends and they can be a little sad. But the overall feeling of this book is that she was awesome. In every way possible. And I really wished that I knew her. Which makes me think, why? Why did such an amazing person that had so much potential and such life...why?

But I don't want to dwell on the sad side of her amazing story.

This books captures the true essence of Esther, through her writing, through the impact she had on others, through the legacy that she created. This book inspired me to be a better person, to become more active in my community and to make my mark on the world. It taught me not to take things for granted and to live each moment to its fullest.

I can't speak high enough of this book. It's simply awe-inspiring.

Happy Reviewsday Tuesday.

Esther Day:
Esther day is celebrated on the 3rd of August. It began in 2010 just before Esther passed away. The idea was created by John Green and Esther. John told Esther that every year, on her birthday, he would do whatever she wanted. expecting that she would choose something crazy, he was surprised, but then again, not, when she replied with 'Love". And not the romantic kind, that gets enough attention already. Esther wanted us to celebrate by telling the people we love naturally, our family, close friends or just people that you just don't say 'I love you' to, that you do. So on August 3rd, 2010, John told Hank that he loved him. The following year, Hank said it back. Esther day is a time to tell the people you love unconditionally, that you love them. Just a little info. The videos explain it better...

CAMPING FUN!

(Note: I wrote most of this yesterday when I got back, It's being uploaded a day late, Sorry.)

I'M BACK!

Hello Internet!

After a week away, I'm back to my internet addicted self. So after talking to friends and catching up on the YouTube I missed, I'm blogging and writing. Cause, guess what. You know how I said that I was going to write when I was away. Yeah...That didn't happen. I got distracted Harry Potter (I'm re-reading) and campy-ness.

So, even though I completely forgot about that, I had a great time and it was a good 'just relax' time. Some days we had stuff planned but most of the time it was pretty chilled out. But highlights were.

  • Soccer. Boys v. Girls was horrible. But we were winning for a time. And we did have 2 boys on our team. We still lost.
  • Soccer #2. Yep, we played twice. We probably would've had more games except the park we were staying at started to get really full for Easter so we lost our pitch area. Anyway, this game was more even, one of the parents split up the teams and it ended up as both teams won because of a penalty shot? I don't know what happened but we decided to leave it as we all won. Which was good. This was probably my favourite game out of the two because it was even and it RAINED! Mud and soccer are fun. Seriously. And I got to go have a hot shower afterwards.
  • Singing. After the rainy soccer match, we sat under one families shelter and the boys had a guitar and they would make up songs. The could all sing (to a certain degree) and would just sing about whatever came to mind. It was funny to listen to and some of them were kinda catchy and people were singing them in the morning. :)
  • The River. Cold. No. Freezing. But still fun, splashing around in freezing cold, waist deep water is fun. There were a few rapids that we had fun trying to walk through and we went down one night to throw the rocks to create sparks. Yeah...we're a little bit weird.
  • Bucketts Way Climb. We climbed up the mountain yesterday and my legs are definitely not loving me for it. It took about 3 hours to climb (up and back) with one rest stop at the top of the first hill. It is steep. VERY steep. As in, climbing on your hands and feet steep. I can not describe how steep it is, it's just crazy. Although it is a brilliant walk and the views from the top are amazing. A few of the boys climbed up further which gave us extra time to rest. Climbing down was fun too, steep mountain and jelly legs, but I DIDN'T FALL. YAY!
  • Campfire. The best part of the day, when it was starting to get dark, the fire was started. Everyone would sit around, go off for dinner or showers, but there was always a time when everyone was there we had a pretty big fire, but we had to fit around 20 people so, yeah. Around the fire was fun because we would just sit and talk or sing or play games and it was just nice to sit there with everyone. Not to mention a lot warmer than everywhere else.
Over all. It was great. I love camping with these people and I hope we go again in October. I hope you all had a great week and enjoy the rest of your holidays (if you're on holidays).

Happy Saturday.

(P.S. Reviewsday Tuesday will be here this week. Hopefully...)

Monday 14 April 2014

I'm un-organised.

I'm usually the complete opposite but during the last week of school, things tend to get a bit out of hand.

This Tuesday, the first ever Reviwesday Tuesday was supposed to be posted this week.

Yeah...

I'm kind of going camping this week, well today, and I don't have anything prepared. So, yeah. I could've scheduled one, but I was un-organised and haven't finished writing it.

But on a better note, I'm going camping and will have heaps of time to write, and when I say write, blog posts are included. So I should come back and there will be blog posts every few days, and not just the weekly Reviewsday Tuesday, which is just boring.

So, I leave this afternoon, get back on Friday, will hopefully have a post up on Saturday (If I remember and not completely exhausted.) and then I have another week of holidays then back to school (Ugh).

Have an amazing week.

Happy Monday.

Movie Mondays: Divergent

I FINALLY SAW IT!

I mentioned this movie in my make up Movie Monday when I forgot. (again, super sorry.) And I said that I really wanted to review it when I got to see it. And I did!

I really loved the books and I desperately hoped that they wouldn't ruin it. And they didn't. Sure they missed out parts that may affect people who haven't read the books, but they should if they really care about it. Either way, I REALLY enjoyed it and I am so excited for Insurgent which I think is scheduled to come out next year.

For anyone wondering what they missed out, the only ones I noticed were;
1. Uriah, which I knew about long before the movie came out. And there still is the guy, that could be Uriah, that asks her to go ziplining. he just isn't as big of a character. And.

2. Peter doesn't stab Edward in the eye. Which is why a said that it may be confusing in the following movies for people who haven't read the books since they won't know who he is when they join with the factionless. But they may just leave him out of the next movies, which will be a shame, but I understand.

But I loved this movie and recommend it to everyone. And, this is the last Movie Monday. It's been fun, but I often just didn't have content to write about. I will certainly still do the occasional movie review but I'm going to try the Reviewsday Tuesday and see how that goes.

So, for the last time.

Happy Movie Monday.

Tuesday 1 April 2014

ANNOUNCEMENT!

I apologise in advance for the people who like Movie Mondays.

But It's not over yet, so don't freak out too much.

So, I was on YouTube (which seems to be a recurring thing here) and I was watching a vlogbrothers video. (To the thought bubble...crash course reference) For those who don't know who the vlog brothers are. They are John and Hank Green. Yes, John Green as in, The Fault in our stars, Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns, John Green. But it is actually one of Hank's video's that is the inspiration for this post. It was really only the end of the video that caught my attention. He wants to start something called Reviewsday Tuesday.

I feel like you're smart enough to realise where this is going but I'm going to continue on anyway.

Reviewsday Tuesday will be a book review. It will be a bit like Movie Mondays, just with books. Which is a lot easier for me, since I read a lot more than I watch movies. But don't worry, Movie Mondays still has one week left in it. The last Movie Mondays will be next Monday, with Reviewsday Tuesday starting the following week.

I hope you all don't hate me for giving up Movie Mondays. This is just easier for me and will encourage me to read more. I'm happy to take book requests. And you never know. I may still do the occasional Movie Monday.

Happy (soon to be Reviewsday) Tuesday.

Movie Mondays: Thor: A dark world.

Because I love my mum to bits, I arrived home on Friday with a new movie sitting on our table. You guessed it. THOR. *insert my beaming face here*
Cause lego is just amazing

I have wanted to see this movie for ages but since none of my family are big marvel fans, I thought I'd have to see it at a friends house. But NO! I got to see it on Friday night. I loved it. Then again I love all marvel movies so...

I especially like how they made avengers references. So I was smiling like an idiot when ever a reference was made and the rest of my family would just look at me like I was crazy, which I could be. But when the movie finished, mum suggested that we should buy avengers and my mind was just screaming 'YES! SUCCESS! I HAVE TURNED MY FAMILY NERDY!' But on the outside, of course, I just said, "Yes, I think that would be awesome."

And, I have to admit, Loki is now rivalling Iron Man for my favourite marvel character. Which is pretty hard but there was about 10 minutes around the middle of the movie where I just couldn't stop laughing because of Loki. Just. I died for a minute from hilarity.

This picture is just perfect in so many ways. XD
I recommend watching this to anyone who enjoyed the other marvel movies, even though you probably have. And for people who haven't seen the others, watch avengers before this and every other marvel movie before that. Just kidding. Watch Avengers and maybe the first Thor might be helpful.

Happy Movie Mondays.

Movie Monday (late on a Tuesday night): Divergent

NOOO! I am sooooooo sorry. I missed Movie Monday. I can't believe it.

You're all probably thinking that I'm just a beginner blogger that will blog for a little while and get tired of it. And I'll admit, yes, I haven't been uploading as often as I did when I started. But I still love blogging and I simply haven't had the time in between homework and assignments and studying and friend commitments (were writing a book together) It honestly just slipped my mind yesterday.

But I still have something I can give you. I hope to review this soon. But I haven't seen it yet but REALLY want to.

Sorry. I just had to add this picture. I mean just look at it. I usually don't fangirl over guys but... Damn.

The divergent movie was released in Australia last Friday. I really wanted to see it opening weekend but I had a ton of homework and assignments to do. So I didn't leave the house. But I hope to see it soon and from what I've heard, it's pretty good.

But anyway. I read the books and I LOVE them so I hope the movie lives up to my expectations. (but the books will forever be amazing).

Either way again I'm sorry and I know that this really isn't sufficient. But I'll hopefully have a post up later thus week. Maybe about this book my friends and I are writing.

If you've seen the movie, tell me what you thought of it below!

I'm off to bed now.

Happy (Movie Monday really late on a) Tuesday.

PINTREST SPREE!

I really need to come up with an opening line...

Anyways, I was on Pintrest recently and I was stuck on ideas for a blog post, so this happened. Pintrest meet Blogger. Blogger, Pintrest.

I haven't been on Pintrest long and I absolutely love it. I think I like it so much because I can collect everything I like about something to one 'board' and reference it at any moment (when I have internet) and most of the stuff is completely nerdy and fangirlish so it's kind of my guilty pleasure.

Now I feel like I'm spilling some deep dark secret.

But I really just wanted to share some of my favourite pins with you...It also gives me an excuse to go on Pintrest. (*insert evil laugh here*)

I should warn you, a lot of these will be nerdy. Sorry.

That's just a little taste of how I spend my free time.

You can follow my Pintrest HERE

Happy Thursday.

Sunday 16 March 2014

I swear, I'm not becoming slack. I promise.

I have had a little bit of writers block and I have exams coming up and between homework and study, I haven't had much time to write blog posts, or to read or watch anything to write about. So I'm afraid there won't be a Movie Monday tomorrow. Partly because of study and partly because I've been having a Harry Potter marathon and birthday party with friends and haven't been able to write a post.

I'm sorry I haven't written in ages, I need to sit down and write a few posts and get on top of things but I will try to write more.

Happy Sunday.

Monday 10 March 2014

Movie Mondays: Frozen

A/N: I think I just need to point out that all of my Movie Mondays are going to contain spoilers. Instead of me saying spoilers at the start of each post, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I LOVE animated films. I would simply say I love Disney but that it leaving out a few good movies so I'll stick with animation. Anyway. Frozen is a Disney film and it's probably second on my favourite movie, a close second to EPIC.

But I have only seen it once, and I was wondering (yes it's another question everything post), did Anna ever find out that she knew about Elsa's powers when she was little and that's how she got the streak in her hair?

And did she ever find out that Kristoff found the goblins and that he knew that they could help her because he was there the first time her father took her?

Either way. I love this movie and I just can't describe it because it's that amazing (or I'm just sick and can't make a full sentence.)

Happy Movie Monday.

Friday 7 March 2014

It's Friday!

As a student, nothing beats the feeling of coming home on a Friday afternoon, knowing that you can sleep in the next morning. Oh such bliss.

So weekly round up.

 MONDAY!
Maths test...WIN!
I got my maths test results back on Monday. 88%. WIN! Technically I came 3rd, but we're kind of saying I came 2nd cause the guy who came first recently moved up to Year 11 extension Maths (Yeah, he's that smart) and isn't part of our class any more. But that guy is my friend, so I don't really care, and one of my other friends came second. So it's a win win for everyone.

TUESDAY!
Cute little Year 6's and major musical fun.
On Tuesday, our school had their first open day for next year's Year 7. Each faculty had to put on a small presentation sort of thing, so show off their faculty to the kids. I was part of the music and drama presentation so guess what, I'll give you a clue, it's musical related. Well, if you didn't get it, we had a musical rehearsal for our presentation. The open day started at 5:30 so I stayed back with a few friends from 2:30 to 5:30 running through scenes and generally having fun then a few more people arrived and we ran through more scenes for the kiddies. I had a very sore throat and was extremely tired by the end of it. 6:30 to 8:30 non-stop days are not my thing.

WEDNESDAY!
We FINALLY got our scripts!
Yes, I know, I'm slightly musical obsessed at the moment but it's taking up a large portion of my life at the moment so I don't have much to talk about. Anyway, we finally got our scripts on Wednesday, thanks to an amazing deputy principal and a fabulous Office Lady. I have gone through the entire script. (101 pages in total) and highlighted, written notes and I'm surprised it's not a mess yet, although I do treat it like it's my musical bible, which it kind of is.

THURSDAY!
I finally got to go to sport this week. And just my luck, it was cold.
Since musical rehearsals have started, I haven't been able to go to sport in about 4 weeks. I do swimming for sport and it was miserable. It was grey and cloudy and it started to rain. But, despite all that, the water was warm (ish) and we had fun. Since most of my friends are in the musical, some were at rehearsals so there was only 3 of us and one of them was sick and didn't swim but hey, it was still fun.

FRIDAY!
Goodbye, but only for a little while.
Today was the last day for my Year Advisor and Japanese teacher. But only until next year. She's having a baby! And she still won't tell us if it is a boy or a girl so we have to wait for another month. It is sad to see her go and I wish she could come back sooner, but I'm really happy for her and she's coming back to watch our musical. So I'll see her around.

So there's my week. In a nutshell.

Sorry, I'm just posting bring stuff, I just haven't had any interesting stuff happening to write a full blog post about. If you've got suggestions. Fire away.

Happy Friday!

Monday 3 March 2014

Movie Monday: Camp Takota.

A/N: I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum but I'm sorry if I slip something out.

If you are not aware, I love my YouTube. You could say I'm a little obsessed but who isn't? Right? But, back on topic, when I heard that 3 of my favourite YouTubers we're making a full length movie. I... You can't grasp how excited I was.

Camp Takota is a full length film featuring YouTube stars, Grace Helbieg, Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart. It follows the story of Elise (played by Grace) who is a successful woman who works for a major publishing company. Then... it all falls to bits. She loses her job, her fiancée is cheating on her and, she doesn't get the book deal. (Watch the movie to see what I mean) S how does she deal with all this? By going back to camp, of course.

She takes up a job as cam counsellor at her old summer camp, Camp Takota. She arrives to find her old camp friends, Maxine and Allison (Mamrie and Hannah) are still at camp. Maxine works as a counsellor and Allison as camp cook. Elise tries to get her life back in order but then the camp is put in danger. Where do her loyalties lie? At Camp Takota or back in the city?

This is one of those movies where you laugh, and cry, and facepalm, and scream at the screen and it's an amazing film. I was waiting for this movie for ages and I was ecstatic when it came out so I could be a bit biased on how amazing it is. But I've watched it again and I still find it amazing

Happy Movie Monday!

Update!

So I just realised that I haven't written anything in a while and I know I posted Movie Monday but I had written that almost a week before so I haven't actual written a post in a while.

So. I thought I could just do a quick update. And I mean super quick because I have a maths test tomorrow and I need to get back to studying soon. And no, I'm not procrastinating for a change. I've been studying for about an hour so this is my break time then I'll go back and do more. So yeah. Maths test tomorrow.

I had another musical rehearsal today, a bit smaller than last time and we just ran through a few scenes. I also realised I cannot speak in an american accent. But it didn't really matter anyway, we we're just all laughing at each other.

Other than that, I've been planning (really) early for NaNoWriMo but I think I'll be closer to the 'finish a story idea' goal I set at the start of the year.

But I should get started back on studying. Year 10 advanced Trigonometry....fun...

Happy Thursday.

Monday 24 February 2014

Movie Mondays: The Hunger Games

(I came up with a name. It's a work if pure genius. Isn't it? If you have any other ideas. Tell me!)

(SPOILERS FOR CATCHING FIRE AHEAD)

I was thinking the other day. I don't know what about. But I came across the Hunger Games and I wondered... The people still in the districts and the Capitol especially, do they sleep during the hunger games coverage? I know it's a short about of time, maybe a week or so, but a lot of stuff came happen under the cover of night. Stuff that the viewers might want to see. I know that in Catching Fire she shoots the force field thing around the arena and it breaks down to reveal a blue sky when it was night time in the games.

Which also makes me wonder is it night during the games and daytime outside? But it looked like the right time when they went in? Do they make the days shorter in the games to make it seem like its going quicker? Or do they just shorten the first day so they might go into the games in the morning but when they go in it might become dark quickly?

SO MANY QUESTIONS!!

And another question... In catching fire, when the sky breaks and falls down, it looks pretty solid. So how to the hovercrafts get in? Would they just come in though a sliding panel or something? And, if so, how do they do it without the tributes noticing.

I think that's enough stuff to ponder. To be honest I started out with that first point in mind and the rest just stemmed off from that.

Anyway.

Happy Movie Monday.

Thursday 20 February 2014

Musical Mayhem.

We're putting on a musical! Bye Bye Birdie to be exact.

Okay, so that was reeeeaaally enthusiastic and I kinda scared myself a little but there it is in a nutshell. Our school is performing Bye Bye Birdie in late May or June.

We had our first rehearsal today and, oh boy, this is going to be fun. Today could also be described as hanging out with most if my friends since we make up most of the cast but it was still really fun. It was only our first rehearsal so we only read through the script and listened to a few of the songs but it was... Interesting.

For those who were wondering I am playing Mrs. MacAfee and if your not familiar with the storyline, I'm one of the main characters mothers. (You thought I was going to say I am a main character. Didn't you?) But although I'm not a huge role I still sing a few songs and have a few good chunks of dialogue. (That I have to memorise. Yay...) And another perk is that I'm considered a 'principle' and get to see all the rehearsals. Yay! Most of today I was laughing at the jokes the cast (and teacher) were making and attempting not to laugh when I had to read my lines.

As an insight, one of the continuing jokes throughout the rehearsal was Kim (main teen role) had to say "Conrad Birdie" 'huskily'... That then stemmed into the actress playing Kim to continually say the line, getting more awkward (or should I say sexual) each time. So then every time someone said "Conrad Birdie" it got a little bit weird. But I'm really bad at explaining and it was one of those 'had I be there' moments.

Anyway. I'll be keeping you all posted on how it goes. I get my script next week!

Happy Thursday!

Movie Mondays

It's now Monday night and I had a really cool idea this afternoon and have been writing down ideas all afternoon before I realised I should probably warn you guys. I have an idea for a new kind of trend, weekly post sort of things. (I am the queen of explanations I know.)

So I was thinking about movies and stuff and realised some really big plot holes in some of my favourite films. So I thought I should blog about it.

But of course I had more than one idea so I decided that I will make it a weekly things. Some weeks it'll be plot holes or random things I notice, other times it might be movie reviews or other movie related stuff. The title of this 'segment' (Can I call it that?) is still in the works but it will involve 'Movie' and 'Monday'.

So how does it sound? I will keep doing my random thought ones during the week as well so I won't just be movie obsessed...

Anyway...

Stay amazing.
Happy (Movie) Monday. (Cause apparently I'm making this a thing.)

The Joys of Summer

I think that there is a misconception about the idea of summer. People often think of it as fun at the beach, barbecues, holidays, hanging out with friends, going swimming... When really it's really just, heat, sun and sunburn then, if your luck, maybe, a tan.

Call me pessimistic or a crazed lunatic for being out in the sun all day and having minor heat stroke but hey, who cares.

*** THE NEXT DAY***

Yesterday I had my annual swimming carnival and it was an absolutely GREAT day. I swam in 2 competitive races and the participation swims. I also got to spend the whole day taking photos for our school magazine.

Wondering why I was such a pessimist afterwards. Well sunscreen works against sunburn, not so much dehydration. It turns out I hadn't had enough water during the day and I was a little bit pink on the cheeks and shoulders. Hello, heatstroke.

For those who have not experienced it. It's not fun. I came home, showered, gulped down three glasses of water and just stayed on my bed with my laptop until dinner, and even then I didn't want to get up.

But I've pretty much just whined this whole post and now I feel like I shouldn't publish it but, I'm going to anyway and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Friday. (TGIF)
